Canninghill Piers, an integrated development in Clarke Quay and River Valley Road, is highly anticipated. It will house approximately 700 units in two residential towers. City Development (CDL) and CapitaLand have announced the inclusion of Ascott Residence Trust (Ascott Reit) into the consortium that will develop Canninghill Piers, expected to be completed in 2024. Canninghill Piers has a Gross Floor Area of 100,263 sq.m. The proposed development will include a hotel, commercial units, and a serviced home. It will be connected directly to Fort Canning MRT.The plans to redevelop the site after CDL Hospitality Trusts (CDLHT) sold the property to CLD in a 50/50 deal. Ascott Reit also sold certain assets, including Somerset Liang Court, to CDL.

After Canninghill Piers is completed, CDL-CapitaLand owns the residential and commercial components. Ascott Reit will have control over the 192 units that are serviced residences with a license for a hotel. CDLHT will own the hotel with 460 to 470 rooms on a forward purchase agreement with CDL. In contrast, Marriott International will manage the hotel under Moxy. The serviced residences will operate as Somerset.

Three of the most prominent developers in Singapore plan to renovate the river promenade, adding new life to Canninghill Piers. These plans are in line with URA’s 2019 Master Plan to increase vibrancy in the region. Canninghill Piers will be in high demand due to its location and easy accessibility to amenities.
